SKC Carries Out Biodiversity Conservation Activities at Naejangsan National Park

Bluegill are an invasive species that disrupt the local ecosystem. My Green Nature is an environmental program focused on ecological restoration in areas where SKC operates. It aims to raise awareness about the value of biodiversity and the importance of restoring healthy ecosystems.The event was attended by SK Nexilis CEO Ryu Gwang-min, Naejangsan National Park Office Director Han Kyung-dong, and employees from both SKC and SK Nexilis. Participants helped protect the aquatic ecosystem by removing bluegill from the lake. The collected fish were donated for use as ingredients in pet food.This edition of My Green Nature also welcomed participation from employees' families. Parents and children explored the Naejangsan Ecological Park together and took part in the bluegill removal activity, offering a hands-on opportunity to learn about the importance of biodiversity preservation.On April 25, SKC and ISC employees conducted a water quality improvement campaign at Tancheon Stream in Seongnam, which included plogging activities to clean the surrounding area. Launched in 2022, My Green School is part of SKC’s CSR efforts, run jointly with its portfolio companies to educate elementary students living near their business sites on proper waste sorting and recycling practices.This year’s program has been expanded into an outdoor, experience-based learning through a new partnership with Naejangsan National Park. Held at the park’s Maple Ecology Garden, the program integrates forest exploration with interactive lessons highlighting the importance of proper waste separation.The program also includes practical training using My Green Place, a plastic recycling information app SKC launched in 2022. Students scanned barcodes on plastic products with the app to learn how to properly sort and dispose of each item.SKC plans to hold four sessions of the My Green School program at Naejangsan National Park by mid-June, reaching around 160 students. SKC Honors Korea’s Patriots with Cemetery Clean-Up Ahead of Memorial Day

The team then visited Section 19, where 913 soldiers and service members are laid to rest, to place national flags, offer floral tributes, and clean the surrounding area.Since establishing its volunteer corps in 2004, SKC has maintained a sisterhood partnership with Seoul National Cemetery since 2008, regularly conducting floral tribute and clean-up activities for the past 18 years. Biodiversity refers to the harmonious coexistence of diverse species and ecosystems, which provides the foundation for all life—including humans—to thrive sustainably.The first biodiversity conservation activity under the My Green Nature initiative, held on April 25, was led by ISC, a semiconductor test solution investee company of SKC. The event took place at Tancheon Stream in Bundang-gu, Seongnam, where ISC is headquartered, and was conducted in collaboration with the Environment Action Association.Participants created and released 1,500 EM (Effective Micro-organisms) mud balls into the stream near Geumtocheon Bridge in Tancheon. Made by mixing beneficial microorganisms with red clay, these natural purifiers gradually dissolve in water, helping break down pollutants. Following the water purification activity, participants also took part in a plogging session to clean up the surrounding environment.SKC is expanding its biodiversity conservation activities, beginning in Seongnam, to communities across Korea where its portfolio companies operate, including Jeongeup in North Jeolla Province and Ulsan. SKC Recognized for Excellent in Governance by the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability (KCGS)
● Building a robust governance system: Managing mid- to long-term strategies through the ESG Committee under the Board of Directors.●Promoting diversity and independence in the Board: Achieving 50% representation of female outside directors.● Expanding ESG efforts to invested companies: ISC showed remarkable improvement, rising two levels in this year’s KCGS evaluation.SKC (CEO Woncheol Park) has been recognized for excellence in the governance category in the ESG evaluation conducted by the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability (KCGS).On December 5, SKC announced that it was awarded for excellence in the governance category at the 2024 Excellent Companies Awards hosted by KCGS. KCGS, the most influential ESG evaluation agency in South Korea, annually assesses the sustainability management practices of listed companies and honor outstanding performers. This year, a total of 13 companies were selected, including one honorary company, seven in the governance category, and five in the ESG category.SKC was acknowledged for its continuous efforts to enhance governance, including the establishment and operation of a robust governance system. Since the ESG Committee was newly organized under the Board in 2021, SKC has managed mid- to long-term strategies and reviewed major decisions related to environmental, social, and governance issues.Continued efforts have also been made to increase gender diversity and transparency on the Board. Starting with the appointment of the first female outside director in 2021, an additional female outside director was appointed to achieve female representation of 50%. Ongoing efforts have also been made to enhance the soundness of the company’s governance by publishing Activity Reports on the Board’s activities, evaluation methods, and compensation systems and disclosing information transparently.In 2022, an outside director was appointed as the Board’s chairperson, through which SKC further strengthened the independence of the Board. Outside directors comprise the majority of SKC’s directors, and the company plans to gradually increase this ratio.Along with the advancement of the governance system, SKC’s ESG management efforts have expanded to invested subsidiaries. SKC Expands Resource Recycling Education for Elementary Students with My Green Place

My Green School is an education program targeted at elementary students, launched by SKC to enhance awareness of proper waste separation. Since 2022, SKC has been conducting annual demonstration on plastic waste sorting methods at elementary schools and community child centers across the country.This year, starting on the 5th with the Grape Tree Community Child Center in Uiseong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, along with three nearby centers, SKC will sequentially conduct educational sessions for about 100 students, moving from Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk Province on the 13th to a community child center in Ulsan on the 23rd.During the program, students learn about the properties of plastic materials and then use the My Green Place app to scan barcodes on plastic products, helping them learn proper waste sorting methods. Particularly this year, the program incorporates animations that clearly explain the waste sorting methods for different plastic types, making the education more engaging and accessible for students.My Green Place, Korea’s first game-based waste sorting app, launched in 2022, surpassed 100,000 cumulative downloads last year. Right after its release, it won the Minister of Environment Award (Grand Prize) at an idea competition hosted by the Ministry of Environment, its excellence was reaffirmed in May this year when it was designated as an Excellent Environmental Education Program.To further expand its educational outreach, SKC plans to further strengthen its collaboration with local communities in the second half of the year. SKC Publishes 2024 Sustainability Report
● Compiled to ensure ‘more detailed and transparent information sharing’ ···first instance of disclosing ESG data for each investee● Providing integrated information on business innovation and ESG management to enhance the utility of information for stakeholders, including investors and rating agenciesSKC (CEO Woncheol Park) released its ‘2024 Sustainability Report’ on its website on the 28th.Marking the fifth edition since its inauguration in 2020, the 2024 Sustainability Report has been compiled to provide key stakeholders, including investors, customers, rating agencies, and civic groups, with more detailed and transparent information on ESG management status.The report is composed of three main sections: the Corporate Overview section, the ‘Sustainability Storybook’ that describes the status of SKC’s business sustainability and ESG management, and the ‘ESG Factbook’ that showcases ESG-relevant data. The Sustainability Storybook covers SKC’s business model innovation in EV battery, semiconductor, and eco-friendly materials, along with an overview of their ESG management system. Notably, the ‘SKC Special’ feature provides an at-a-glance view of significant changes from the past year, including the acquisition of the semiconductor test solution company ISC.The ESG Factbook contains detailed quantitative and qualitative ESG-related data for the years 2021 to 2023. Until last year, ESG data was disclosed only as a sum of SKC and its key investees. However, starting with this year’s report, the 2023 data is disclosed separately for SKC, SK Nexilis, SK picglobal, and SK enpulse, and others. This allows stakeholders to access environmental performance data, such as greenhouse gas emission reductions and water recycling, as well as social data covering human resource composition and supplier management status, broken down by each investee.The ‘2023 SKC Activity Report’ is also included in this year’s edition. SKC produced this report on a trial basis for the first time last year to promote the evaluation principles, indicators, compensation scheme of the SKC board of directors and CEO. SKC is assigned with Integrated A+ ESG rating by the KCGS

The KCGS ESG ratings evaluation covered 1049 listed companies this year and only 19 out of them, including SKC, were honored with A+ this year, accounting for the top 1.8%. S rating has never been assigned to any company so far.The honor of winning such a remarkable rating is the result of SKC’s persistent efforts to forge ahead with innovations in environment, society and governance categories while innovating business models at a breathless pace under its vision of ‘Global ESG Material Solution Provider.’ Winning the most prestigious rating, SKC has entrenched solid ESG leadership in its industry, earning greater trust from investors.In terms of specific rating categories, SKC was rated A+, two notches up from last year, in the environment category and A+ and A in the society and the governance categories respectively, at the same level as the previous year.SKC enhanced its trustability, disclosing its environmental targets and achievements in detail in terms of GHG (greenhouse gas) net zero and plastic net zero domains. SKC fosters eco-friendly consumption with My Green Place X Environmental Mark
● Running My Green Place booth in the ESG-ECO EXPO Korea 2023 to be held from Oct. 11 to 13 in COEX●Promoting Environmental Mark-certified products conducive to eco-friendly consumption ··· providing a lot more information in support of eco-friendly consumptionSKC (CEO: Woncheol Park) joins the ESG-ECO EXPO Korea 2023, Korea’s biggest environmental trade show, to boost public awareness of products bearing environmental marks and encourage eco-friendly consumption.In the environmental trade fair organized by the Ministry of Environment and hosted by the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute (KEITI) for three days starting October 11 in COEX, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, SKC will set up My Green Place, Korea’s first-ever game platform designed to publish waste sorting guides, in the Special Environmental Mark Pavilion opened by the KEITI.Launched by SKC on the Day of the Earth (April 22), My Green Place is Korea’s first mobile game platform intended to publish waste sorting guides. Simply by scanning a barcode printed on a plastic container, consumers can easily find descriptions of unfamiliar plastic materials such as PET and PE, and guides on how to sort and through away such plastic wastes. They can also earn mileage points that can be used in a game to turn barren fields into green zones. My Green Place has been downloaded over 90,000 times so far.SKC has set up a special space for visitors to experience My Green Place app. The company is also running the Find Environmental Marks campaign in which the first 2,000 players who succeeded in scanning the barcodes on Environmental Mark-certified products placed in the exhibition booth and earned corresponding stamps are entitled to free giveaways.The Environmental Mark is an eco-friendliness certification program backed up by the government that allows products and services to reduce energy and resource consumption and minimizing pollution footprints throughout its entire lifecycle from production to consumption to bear a certification logo (Environmental Mark).
