On June 27, SKC (CEO: Woncheol Park) carried out its “My Green Nature” activities on Namsan Mountain in Seoul to promote biodiversity conservation. Building on its ecological restoration efforts earlier this year in Seongnam, Jeongeup, and Ulsan, SKC conducted sapling planting and environmental clean-up activities on Namsan, near its recently relocated headquarters in Chungmuro.

The event was attended by SKC Chairperson of the Board Chae Eun-mi and other SKC members, who took part in ecosystem restoration activities. In particular, the initiative focused on planting native species to enhance biodiversity and strengthen the ecological role of the urban forest.

Participants removed existing non-native plants from the Namsan Children's Forest and planted native species such as Korean bellflowers and Hosta 'Golden Tiara’, which contribute to biodiversity conservation. By personally planting and tending the saplings, participants experienced the importance of ecological restoration firsthand and gained a renewed appreciation for the value of nature in urban settings.

SKC has continued its My Green Nature initiatives at major business sites across the country. In April, May, and June, the company conducted water purification and non-native species removal at Tancheon Stream in Seongnam, Naejangsan National Park in Jeongeup, and Seonbawi Park in Ulsan, respectively.

Meanwhile, on May 26, SKC relocated its headquarters from its Gwanghwamun office to the SK-C Tower at 15 Chungmuro, Jung-gu, Seoul, marking the beginning of its "Chungmuro era." With this move, SKC plans to accelerate its growth as a global ESG-focused materials solution provider.

An SKC representative said, “This activity was especially meaningful as it coincided with our headquarters relocation and was held on Namsan — a major ecological hub and one of the most iconic green spaces in Seoul.” The representative added, “SKC will continue working to _ create_ a sustainable future in harmony with nature.” [End]
