CMP Pad Production
Based on polyurethane R&D technology accumulated for more than 30 years, SKC produces high value polyurethane ‘CMP Pad (Chemical Mechanical Polishing Pad)’ used in the semiconductor manufacturing process, and makes soft magnetic material that is used as a core material in the making of NFC for mobile phones, etc.

SKC secured patent rights and launched the business in 2015, creating the product after a year by combining existing polyurethane-related technological capabilities. We promote related businesses, such as through the acquisition of a certification with the Pad used in the main process of national semiconductor companies in 2016, and the construction of a factory that can produce 50 thousand pieces a year in October.
Soft magnetic material is a core material that is needed for the use of NFC (Near Field Communication), RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and wireless charging technology. These are technology that transmits information or energy by wireless, and SKC’s soft magnetic material maximizes the properties of these technologies when they are used. Also, it offers electromagnetic shielding/absorption according to the use.
One of them, ‘Ferrite Sheet’ covers the antenna and keeps the antenna in shape, while acting as protection so that electromagnetic interference from the electronic circuit does not affect other parts. SKC succeeded in developing a world-class product in 2012, only a year after product development based on the magnetic material and decades-old film processing technology used in video tapes, etc. It features thinness and longer communication range.
SKC is currently working on developing a wide range of products in preparation for the age of wireless charging technology used in various products such as electric vehicles and home appliances, etc.
