Date Submitted 2019-03-27
● Installed window films in five social welfare facilities in Jongno-gu and delivered 40 DIY air purifiers

● Wrapped up its activities for the first half of the year and vowed to step up its efforts to create sustainable social value

The pro bono team ‘HAPPIEST’ of SKC (CEO Lee Wan-jae) has completed its volunteer activity of installing window films in five social welfare facilities in Jongno-gu for the first half of this year and also donated DIY air purifiers. SKC’s pro bono team led by new employees have contributed to raising social values through volunteer activities such as window film installation.

On March 27, SKC HAPPIEST installed window films in Marronnier Community Home and Sullivan Learning Support Center in Jongno-gu, Seoul. Participants cleaned up 92 windows in these two buildings and carefully applied window films.

The window films that were installed on this day are SK Home Care Film, which boasts a heat rejection rate of up to 95% that can lower the indoor temperature by 3 to 5 degrees compared to the outside temperature. In addition, the film also blocks out more than 99% of UV rays, thereby reducing the color fading of indoor furniture.

SKC HAPPIEST has conducted its pro bono activity of installing window films since last year. Last year, the team installed window films at the site of "Building Homes of Hope" of Habitat Korea. Since January this year, HAPPIEST has engaged in pro bono activities in five social welfare facilities in Jongno-gu in connection with the Jongno District Office. For perfect installation, SKC HAPPIEST received a series of training from experts.

SKC HAPPIEST also donated 40 air purifiers made by its members themselves to the five institutions. SKC members made DIY air purifiers arranged by a social enterprise called "10 Years After Research Institute" while participating in the program titled "DIY Making and Donation of Air Purifiers" of The Happiness Foundation of SK Group on March 22.

An SKC official said, "We are making efforts to create sustainable social value, rather than providing simple volunteer services. We will step up our various efforts, such as the in-house program "Social Value Challengers" aimed at seeking ways to increase social values through SKC's businesses. [END]
